Your Opinion Matters

Consultation helps organisations to understand what people think about services and how to improve them.  It also helps clarify the priorities and concerns of residents to help design policy and strategy.

The Brighton and Hove Consultation Portal

The new Brighton and Hove Consultation Portal has been developed to help improve the way consultation and research is carried out in the city.  Residents will be able to find out about current consultations and give their views, as well as find out about past consultations and the outcomes of these, all via the portal.

The Portal is new, but over time key consultations being run by partners of the Brighton and Hove Strategic Partnership will be available for all to view and respond to via the portal. The Partnership has representatives from all of the major public sector organisations in the city (such as the Council, Police and NHS Brighton & Hove) as well as representatives from the community & voluntary and private sectors.

Current Consultations

  • Intelligent Commissioning:  Alocohol, Drugs and Domestic Violence:  A series of pilots is being run to commission services relevant to the harm caused by Alcohol, Drugs and Domestic Violence and to test out proposed new frameworks for Intelligent Commissioning
  • Do you use a Public Library? – If you don’t please tell us why not and if you do, tell us what you think about it.
  • Mixed Sex Wards: There is a Government commitment to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation for hospital inpatients. We would like to know how many people were in mixed sex wards during a stay in a Brighton hospital, and the way it affected them.
  • The Level Consultation: The scheme is looking to redevelop the park and the possibility of relocating the skatepark. From – Spring 2009 – Spring 2012
